The letters begin
Inner & Outer Landscapes launches as a fortnightly letter: one issue every two weeks weaving the inner landscape, the outer landscape and the regenerative culture they point toward, closing with a single recommendation. Letter No. 001 tells the story of where the idea began. The method gets built in public here.
Building Nairobi's syntropic flagship
We’re launching a flagship syntropic-agroforestry demonstration site and training centre in Nairobi with Greenpop and DHL Africa: high-density, highly productive restoration that works with nature, designed from day one to be replicated across the continent. The coalition matters more than the method; agroforestry experts, community-led NGOs, researchers and funders are all invited in.
Mulanje's next chapter
Mulanje steps into its new status as a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape, and the work is evolving with it: from restoration projects toward a bioregional strategy, restoration-linked value chains like beekeeping and dried fruit, and the operational backbone for a scalable restoration hub, in partnership with Mulanje Mission Hospital, DHL Africa and a wide local coalition.
Bioregioning, digested
I completed Gaia Education’s Bioregioning in Practice 2.0 alongside around 150 practitioners from six continents. Three threads I’m carrying into all the current work: map the existing care before the deficits; cornerstone indicators over vanity metrics; and the recognition that regenerating a place and regenerating the people doing the work are not two projects but one.
